Jobs and Volunteering
Hamlin Fistula UK is made up of a small, dynamic team who are passionate about women’s health in Ethiopia.
We are looking for enthusiastic and committed people who are passionate about health as a human right to join us on our mission to end avoidable childbirth injuries.
Hamlin Fistula UK (HFUK) exists to raise funds for Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia (HFE), a nationwide healthcare network of over 550 Ethiopian staff operating six fistula hospitals which treats over 3,000 women annually. Our services also include a rehabilitation centre, the Hamlin College of Midwives and over 40 Hamlin-supported rural midwifery clinics.
This is an exciting time to join Hamlin Fistula UK – we have transformative and ambitious plans to increase the funding we provide to Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia to enable them to realise their vision. We are investing in this, both by adding new roles to our team and approving a fundraising expenditure budget to deliver significant income growth.

Role Description
Are you looking for your next Individual Giving role at a small, ambitious charity? Hamlin Fistula UK is growing our team to help achieve our vision of ending fistula in Ethiopia forever. We are now recruiting our first Individual Giving Manager.
We recently worked with a consultant to develop our first Individual Giving strategy and expenditure budget, which has been approved by our Board of Trustees. We are looking for an experienced fundraising and marketing professional to take ownership of this strategy and deliver it to achieve our objectives.
You will work closely with the CEO and Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships, building on our existing Individual Giving fundraising and taking it to the next level. You will spearhead our ambitious plans for income growth, in order to make even greater impact for women and girls with obstetric fistula.
This is an opportunity for someone with the experience and confidence to lead our work in this area and to proactively identify, build and support a community of donors to generate income and start a long-term relationship to support our mission and the women we serve.
You will be joining a successful, dedicated team, led by an inspirational CEO and a Board of Trustees who are primed to support your efforts.
You will be comfortable with both strategic planning and execution of a workplan. You will be a doer, someone who is equally comfortable taking part in a leadership team discussion and rolling your sleeves up to get things done. If this sounds like a challenge you can rise to, we look forward to hearing from you.
