Support Hamlin at your celebration
Fundraising for Hamlin Fistula UK through your celebration is a special way to share your support for women in Ethiopia.
From birthdays and anniversaries to weddings and events, setting up a fundraiser from friends and family for Hamlin can help raise vital funds to treat and prevent childbirth injuries in Ethiopia – changing the lives of women like Medanit, pictured.
If you are on Facebook and would like to ask your friends and network to support Hamlin for your special event, it is now even easier.
Facebook fundraisers can be set up for any occasion. Share your fundraiser with friends, get donations and reach your goal. Facebook doesn’t deduct any fees from non-profit fundraisers, so Hamlin receives 100% of the funds you raise.
Hamlin supporter Sarah recently set up a Facebook fundraiser for her birthday, raising a fantastic £280 – enough to provide pre-operative physiotherapy to nine women.
Sarah told us “I created a Facebook Fundraiser for the first time for my birthday to raise funds for Hamlin. It was so easy to set up and I was over the moon with the generosity of my friends and family! It feels good to know what an impact the money has had for women in Ethiopia”.

Support Hamlin at your wedding
Fundraising for your wedding or civil partnership is a unique way to show your support for women in Ethiopia on your big day.
By asking your guests for donations as part of your wedding list, you and your partner can make a vital contribution to helping us end fistula in Ethiopia forever.
You can do this by setting up an online fundraising page through Facebook or Just Giving and include the link to your page in your wedding invitations, or even through holding a collection among your special guests on the big day.
Barney and Catherine, pictured, recently celebrated their wedding and chose to set up a JustGiving page support Hamlin Fistula UK, raising a fantastic £450 – making a vital contribution towards one fistula surgery.
Catherine, who has spent time working in Ethiopia, told us “Women’s reproductive health is a very important cause to us and I will always feel a strong moral drive to be there for Ethiopian women in any way I can”.
We would like to say a big thank you to Catherine and Barney!
