Double your Donation this December through the Big Give Christmas Challenge and support #HamlinHealthHeroes
We are very excited to let you, our supporters, know that Hamlin Fistula UK has been selected to participate in the Big Give Christmas Challenge 2020, the UK’s largest matched-funding campaign!
Kicking off on #GivingTuesday, from 1 – 8 December 2020 donations* made online to Hamlin Fistula UK via the Big Give website will be doubled.
Since 2008, Big Give Christmas appeals have raised over £118 million for participating charities, and last year, thanks to your support we were awarded the Big Give’s “Best Newcomer Award” for our first ever campaign.
This December, we are working to do even more for women in Ethiopia.
As in the UK, Ethiopia has been affected by COVID-19 and Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia’s team of hero health professionals has adapted in the face of the pandemic to ensure essential clinical services for women continue to be delivered.
These individuals, like Dr. Betty, pictured right, are providing life-changing support for women who have suffered devastating childbirth injuries, during the pandemic and before.
Through our #HamlinHealthHeroes campaign we will be working to raise £5,000 to support Hamlin’s hero health workers to provide fistula surgeries for 20 women, changing 20 lives forever. All donations* will be doubled by two generous match funders.
Every donation will make a difference in meeting our goal.
How can I double my donation to Hamlin Fistula UK this Christmas?
Donations made to Hamlin Fistula UK online via our special page on the Big Give website will be matched for seven days from midday on Tuesday 1 December until midday on Tuesday 8 December. A donation button will appear on this page and be available from 1 – 8 December.
During this period all donations will be doubled, one donation, twice the impact.
If you would like to support our work this Christmas, we highly recommend doing so during the Christmas Challenge when your donation will be doubled making even more of a difference.
This year, due to the pandemic there will be more women in Ethiopia who have faced giving birth without medical assistance, and potentially many who will have suffered from childbirth injuries including obstetric fistula. As travel restrictions reduce and confidence increases, Hamlin is ready to support women in need.
Your support this Christmas will enable #HamlinHealthHeroes to support women in Ethiopia to regain their health, confidence and livelihoods.
